Fuerteventura is the oldest Canary island, the second largest one and the last one being explored. (latitude 28° 27′ N, longitude: 13° 51′ W )
Being the island situated so close to the African coast; the average temperature of 23 degrees makes it a paradise for tourist and residents all over the year. That is why it is not surprising that the island is called the island of ´eternal spring´. The variety of landscapes and protected areas are definitely some part of the local tresure, moreover the island was declared by UNESCO the ´Biosphere Reserve´in 2009.

These are the adjective used by my friends and travel agents who visited ´Strong Fortune´. Some translate the name of the island as ´strong fortune´. I love it!
The majority of people live in four areas. ( Morro Jable, Caleta de Fuste, Puerto del Rosario, Corralejo). You can easily distinguish 3 most popular tourist areas on the island: Morro Jable with the majority of German tourists and many hotels situated in front of the promenade, Caleta de Fuste (Castillo) where English sometimes seems to be more often heard than Spanish and Corralejo with a mixture of different nationalities of tourists, residents like me and the local people called ´Majoreros´. Puerto del Rosario is the administrative capital situated in the centre of the eastern coast and very close to the International airport.
I will try to be objective and give each area its importance and emphasis reflecting its originality and beauty, however the decision to live in the north part of the island was very easy taken by me because of its people, ambience and so many important memories I have created here.
Ideal for families, couples, this island offers many areas that everyone will find attractive and unique. The clue is to come well prepared and know where to stay and what you can explore in order to enjoy your holidays or getaway to the fullest. The tranquillity of the local people, variety of landscapes and local gastronomy will remain forever in your memory and I am sure that this mix will create magic and unforgettable moments that will be easily reflected in your smiles, emotions, memories.
